Further attempts at magazine articles

I used the background eraser tool on this photo as it was taken in the green room and I wanted to use a white background. I felt this was very affective. I had to zoom in a lot and work really closely and carefully as I wanted to remove the green as much as possible without losing any of the image itself.
I tried an entirely different approach on this poster, using a black and white image, a print screen from my music video. I used the text tool on photoshop to add the basic text. I used the pencil tool to draw the black behind the 'Georgia' text. I tried to create a grafiti effect with white text over the top. I felt this fit the R'n'B genre better than my previous images.

These are attempts of my magazine article which I believe are getting closer to the final product. With a few tweeks I think one of these will be the one I choose to use. The one on the left is an improved version of one of my first 3 drafts.

Print Screens of my video

To create this effect I overlapped two sequences of film however I lowered the opacity so you could see both images at the same time which creates an interesting sequence of film.

To create this sequence of film I replicated one part of my film and flipped it vertically to create a mirror image effect. I then duplicated this to create four images of Georgia and another mirroring effect, I found this very effective. Initially I was only going to have two of her however it did not work as due to the way it was filmed it was not central.

This image and the one below where edited in the same way as my first image. I also made them black and white.

This is an image of our male protagonist Kabi, he fit the part of Jay-Z very effectively. He was filmed in the green room so I had to use the chroma key and the colour key to remove the background. Unfortunately the magenta light we used was not strong enough so we had to use the garbage key to remove some of the background which the chroma key and colour key couldn't do. This is also the effect I used on the image below.

This image was simply made black and white, however on the right side of the image I had to use the garbage key as unfortunately the legs of one of the light was in the shot.

In this image and the two below I made them black and white and flipped the series of film horizontally. I then lowered the opacity of one of the clips to create a shaddow effect.

These are screen shots of my favourite shots from the music video and may feature on my digipack and/or my poster.

Filming

I wrote the lyics to the song on a piece of paper so whilst we filmed Georgia singing she could see the words to ensure she got them correct to make the lip syncing easier.

I later took photos for my ancillary text with a still camera.

This is an image from when we were seeing up the camera ready to fil Kabi who was playing Jay-Z

This is an image from when we took still pictures of Georgia for our poster and digipak

These are images of our lyics written down which I held up for Kabi to read to ensure he got the lyrics correct. I ensured we did this everytime we filmed as we wanted to get the lip syncing spot on.

First drafts of magazine articles

The first draft I did I didn't feel all the colours worked and the different texts, I felt there was too much going on. I like the second one more as it is more simple however I still do not feel it is finished and will continue to pursue it, equally as I will the third, I like this one most of all although I am undecided as to whether it is perhaps too simple.

Examples of magazine articles

I researched some magazine articles featuring Rihanna, this has given me some ideas for my auxillary text. Rihanna always appears very sexually, on two of the articles she is featured wearing red lipstick and always has flesh on show.

Pictures of us filming

We both took a turn at filming our protagonist Georgia holding the camera without the tripod.
